The miracle of the loaves and fishes
With this project I intend to encourage viewers to reflect on the economic scope of an artwork and, therefore, the fiat or fiduciary value of the artistic product and the same money that participates in that market. Let's say that with this series I try to create a miracle worthy of the pragmatics of art: multiply the money.

Project phases:
1º devaluation A detail almost imperceptible at first sight. With my engraving burins I removed the stars on the back of each coin which I used as matrix. By removing these elements, the coins ceased to have fiduciary validity under European quality control.

2º representation Each of the eight coins previously devalued were represented 1000 times on a paper. The multiplication was made symbolically with graphite. Each coin printed added another further monotype in the final count. Thus each final monotype contains 1000 unique monotypes.

The fact that all the monotypes of the series have the same size is not random. It intends to reject the theory that by being a larger work it should be more expensive. Furthermore, for each work in the series I needed the same working hours.

3º sale Although it may seem obvious it is one of the most important phases of the project, which is why each of the titles correspond to its economic value.

Only after making the sale you can connect to the miracle that the title refers to.

Thinking abstractly, assigning the same alphabetical value (x) to each of the monotypes that make up the project, it reflects indirectly the wage inequality and discrimination present both in national economies or companies and multinational economies or companies around the world.

The series consists of an edition of 15 copies but to proceed to execute the next print edition, I have to sell all monotypes that make up the first edition. If your favorite work or the piece with the price you consider to be appropriate has already been sold, at some time it may be available again.
